"Miss Christy" has been singing, dancing, teaching and entertaining young children and families since 1999.  Christy has a B.F.A in theatre performance from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a M.A. in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the Phillips Graduate Institute in Encino, CA.  Before moving to Traverse City, she was the center director for Wee Heart Music, Inc. offering Music Together® classes for nearly 15 years in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL.  In 2010, she was awarded Music Together Certification Level II for outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy, and parent education by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ.  "Miss Christy" also performs for birthday parties and special events and has recorded two holiday CDs (both available on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby).  While in Traverse City, she has enjoyed singing and performing with various groups including TC Sings Community Choir, NMC Jazz Vocal Ensemble and Manitou Winds.  Last March, she made her debut appearance at the Old Town Playhouse in the title role playing Mary Poppins in "Mary Poppins - the Broadway Musical!"  Christy remains active in theatre and will be appearing as Lady of the Lake in the musical "Spamalot" opening at the Old Town Playhouse April 28th - May 20th!  Aside from teaching Music Together, Christy enjoys her time working as a teacher assistant in the preschool classroom at the Children's House - An Independent Montessori School.
